The Hijack of Boeing One documentary draws on research and pre-production undertaken by John Earnshaw for his documentary concept “The Search For Boeing One” and dates back to the early ‘80s when Earnshaw formed Mallard Productions to produce his film. You can learn more about Boeing One and the mystery of its disappearance HERE.
Filming for “The Search For Boeing One” started in the mid 1980s and continued to the early 1990s. The production was finally abandoned when, after frustrating Earnshaw’s efforts for four years, the Department of Conservation, who controlled the filming location, began conspiring with a rival production company that was plagiarizing Earnshaw’s work.
In essence, a decade of Earnshaw’s research, together with his documentary concept was gratuitously hijacked. From these events came the inspiration for Jon Smyth’s concept: “The Hijack of Boeing One”. The author’s notes on the excerpts of the story that appear on this website can be found HERE. |
